Yesterday evening I was invited to a friend’s place, she organized a “Healthy evening with smoothies and natural cosmetics”. The products were from Vital & Natur, they have a whole range of skin care products -creams and lotions for body and face, massage oils, anti-ageing products, and even sun care products. I didn’t know that jojoba oil has natural sun-blocking properties, which can be translated as 5-7 sun block factor!
At the moment I don’t need any creams, I’m fully stocked, but if the need arises in the future I would go for their eye-cream. My eye area is extremely sensitive and I had to stop using all the products (creams and make-up) in the eye area. However, their eye cream gave me no reaction. I also loved the all-purpose face & body cream “Balance & Energy” and their face creams from Monte line.
The smoothies were delicious! We all received recipes we can test at home. The emphasis was on green ingredients, especially leaf green vegetables. Yummy! We also tried Prosecco with lavender juice, it was delicious!
I was challenged in understanding and speaking German, because everyone there was German speaking. The presentation of cosmetics was in German too. It’s a pity I couldn’t grasp the meaning of everything that was said, because I’m very interested in the topic. At least it gave me a kick in the butt to start improving my German!
I was supposed to meet up with a friend at 15h but she canceled so I took some time for myself instead. Just today I discovered the “Healthy Dessert Blog” at http://chocolatecoveredkatie.com/ and everything gave me such watery mouth that I needed to try something out right away! I went for 5-minute Chocolate Truffles, made up of just two ingredients!! They are raw, vegan, gluten-free, and low in sugar (you can also make them sugar-free but I didn’t have a 100% chocolate at hand so I made them with chocolate for baking instead).
You only need to cut chocolate in pieces, add three spoons of milk (I used coconut-rice milk), a tiny pinch of salt, and then melt! Afterwards freeze until hard enough to form scoops (I don’t actually have an ice-cream spoon so I just used a normal table spoon and my hands, hehe). Roll in cocoa if you want to, and voila!
I enjoyed my chocolate truffles with an espresso and a newspaper-I’m a little addicted to news reading. I guess that’s a “professional deformation” all news writers suffer from 😉 Besides, I’m so impatient to find out whether Luis Suarez is going to be punished for that Chiellini bite!! Or actually, how much he is going to be punished. What do they need to investigate anyway? We all saw what happened! And it’s not like it happened the first time! That was just crazy! Are we watching kindergarten soccer of what?!

Recently I posted a picture on my Instagram of sugar-free, protein-rich spice cake. To refresh your memory, here it is again:
Some of you asked me for a recipe and I decided to write it down for you. I found the recipe here.
Dough: *6 eggs *2 1/2 cups wheat flour *150 grams melted butter *1 cup coconut flour *1 cup almond flour *2 teaspoons baking powder *1/2 teaspoon ground cardamon *2 table spoons ground cinnamon *2 table spoons ground ginger *1 tea spoon ground star anise *1 teaspoon real vanilla *1/2 tea spoon ground cloves
(If you wish to make the dough sweeter, add two table spoons stevia)
Preheat the oven to 150 degrees and melt the butter. Beat eggs and flour until fluffy. Mix together the dry ingredients and pour into wet ingredients alternatively with the butter. Pour the mixture into a greased oblong baking pan. Bake in the middle of oven for about 30 min. Then take the dough out of the pan and let cool.
Topping: Sugar-free whipped cream
Add a little bit of stevia to the cream and whip it. Spread over the cake. Decorate with fresh strawberries / blueberries / raspberries.
You need to know this cake is not for those who are trying to lose weight! It’s high in calories and fat. However, because Derek & me are lately avoiding sugar, it was perfect for us. This cake is also rich in protein value and thus great for me, since I try to eat more protein. I have noticed that since I started increasing protein value of the food I eat, I have already gained some weight. It’s hard for me to gain weight, but I don’t want to be too skinny. I see that increasing the caloric value of my food by adding protein helps a lot! I’m happy to see some results already. Combined with the exercise I do, I hope the additional weight comes in form of muscles 😉
Hello guys! Today I went to the store to try on my three running shoes picks, of which I wrote about in my last post. Right away, Adidas Supernova Glide felt extremely soft and comfortable. Nike’s were comfy too, but felt a little hard when I tried walking & running –
yes, running in the store! Giga Sport stores have a running band where you can give your shoes a spin before you make your decision, and this is exactly what I did 🙂 there is even a camera in the back of the band making transmitting a picture of you as you run real-time on a screen in front of you. I never saw myself running from the back before, it was kind of funny 🙂
Anyways, when I ran, I felt a big difference between Nike Lunar and Adidas Supernova Glide, Nikes were just not that comfortable or bouncy. I also tried Asics Gel Kayano, but the size somehow didn’t fit my foot! I was happy about that because I wouldn’t buy them anyway because of the price 😉
I just made dinner and tried a new salad dressing, namely soy sauce & lemon & tahini. You need:
2 table spoons say sauce (I use reduced salt one)
1 tea spoon tahini
Some drizzles of lemon juice
It is absolutely delicious!!! I love, love, love it! You have to try it!

Finally time to post again! Today I did something very fun: I went out with my girlfriends. We chose a famous city hotel (thanks Melita for great suggestion!) where they host special “Tapas & Friends” evenings on Wednesdays. We had an awesome evening 😉 The atmosphere was so nice, beautiful interior, stylish yet cozy. Fireplace kept us warm and the music lifted the spirits. We were welcomed by Campari cocktails, after which we went for little snacks and, of course, more drinks 😉
If you are in surroundings, I highly recommend!
